MBA: Management Expertise for Working Professionals


We prepare you for the challenges and rewards of leadership. Our part-time Master of Business Administration (MBA) works in tandem with your career to equip you with the entrepreneurial and strategic abilities you need to advance and succeed. Conducted in the English language, our programme for working professionals gets you in shape for the demands of global business and qualifies you to take on new leadership roles.  

One outstanding advantage for MBA students at GGS: each student admitted to the programme receives a scholarship from the Dieter Schwarz Foundation to cover 40% of tuition costs. GGS also offers five special scholarships to cover 75% of tuition costs.

Concept

The globalization of business processes means that firms need leaders with a global mindset and highly developed sensibilities for ethical and socially responsible action. The part-time MBA at GGS offers thorough preparation to meet ever-increasing demands. Every module of study addresses global topics and important aspects of Corporate Social Responsibility.

Our part-time format enables an optimal interplay between job and studies. The degree takes 24 months. There are 18 weekend modules and four one-week residencies. The MBA consists of Core Modules (months 1-16) and Personal Focus Modules (months 17-20), from which you select your own topics. The remaining four months are dedicated to completion of the master’s thesis.

Independent research project about a job- or company-related topic, based on state-of-the-art knowledge and supervised by a first and second examiner.

Applicants to the MBA programme (part-time) at GGS must also have a minimum of three years of job experience.   • English Writing Coaching: To make sure doing an English-language MBA is a rewarding challenge and not a burden, we offer English Writing Coaching. Our coaches support you as you write course assignments and help you prepare for your master’s thesis. 

  • Personal and Career Coaching: Together with Emrich Consulting, we offer MBA students individualized career coaching. Use the coaching to reflect on your current situation, to overcome possible setbacks, and to discover new perspectives – professionally or personally.

  • Real Life Learning: You learn directly from your own job experience and from problem situations raised by professors and classmates. The point of Real Life Learning in our part-time MBA is to make the most of the solutions you develop during your coursework by applying them directly to your workplace.

GGS International

During the part-time MBA programme, we offer numerous opportunities for international exchange. You can take selected course modules at our partner schools in Africa, Asia, the USA and Europe and count this international coursework toward your Personal Focus requirement.     

The International Summer Academy offers another opportunity to meet and study with students from all over the world. The Academy offers a rich variety of lectures and company visits. The German Mittelstand and its economic and social importance are the primary focus. Cultural activities offer ample opporunity to get to know MBA students from other countries.

The International Study Tour can be taken for ECTS credit toward your MBA degree. Each year, the International Study Tour heads to a different country, offering participants a once-in-a-lifetime intercultural experience. Whether to China, South Africa, or Russia, the study tour provides a platform for dialog with people at firms and universities as well as opportunities to meet students, academics, and businesspeople.

Accreditation

Our part-time MBA is FIBAA accredited at 90 ECTS. FIBAA gives its seal of approval to high-quality educational programmes and institutions. It is an internationally-oriented European agency promoting quality assurance and quality development in higher education, with emphases on the economic, legal and social sciences. Through our accreditation we assure that our part-time MBA programme fulfills your requirements and that you receive a degree that meets the highest established standards for quality.

Tuition Every student accepted into the MBA programme receives a 40% scholarship from the Dieter Schwarz Foundation. Of the 29,500 Euro total tuition, a student is responsible for 17,700 Euro.
