TOEFL Preparation Course

The TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), developed by the Educational Testing Service in Princeton, USA, is an internationally recognized test required for entry into English-based higher education in the USA and in much of Europe. The standardized test evaluates a candidate's fundamental English abilities (listening comprehension, written English). To prepare you for the TOEFL test, which is required for MBA and MSc admission to the German Graduate School of Management and Law, we offer a TOEFL preparation course at GGS free of charge to all applicants.

Location

The course takes place in the GGS building in Heilbronn.

Course Structure

The course focuses on topics and skills required in the test, using practice tests as the basis to study the following:

  • Listening Comprehension
  • Structure and Written Expression
  • Reading Comprehension
  • Writing
  • Speaking

Content and Goals

  • Grammar review
  • Vocabulary building
  • Listening and reading comprehension practice
  • Introduction to writing texts

Who can participate?

  • Applicants to the German Graduate School of Management and Law
  • Prerequisite: good existing English ability (a minimum of six years of English in school)

Important

The course serves as preparation for the TOEFL test, but the test itself is not offered as part of the course. The TOEFL test can only be taken at authorized test centers in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Freiburg, Munich or Hamburg. Information about the test centers will be provided during the GGS course.
